A Small Gesture of Kindness, A Great Deal of Compassion ❤️
Following her initial visit in June, a Dharma family member from Guangzhou returned to the dialysis centre with two companions to learn more about the centre’s services and visit patient Lau Kar Kie.
They were deeply impressed by Kar Kie’s exquisite handwoven baskets and immediately placed orders for several of them. When asked how much they should pay, Kar Kie smiled and replied, “Any amount is fine. Just consider it a donation to Tzu Chi. This is my small way of giving back.”
The three visitors also took part in a simulation that demonstrated how dialysis patients have limited wrist movement during treatment. The experience deeply moved them and gave them a greater appreciation of the daily challenges and perseverance of dialysis patients.
Every visit, every conversation, and every shared experience helps build understanding, compassion, and human connection.
