On July 11, faculty students from the Department of Social Welfare at National Chung Cheng University visited our dialysis center to gain insight into the operations and practical aspects of long-term care. Despite limited resources, all rehabilitation equipment was handcrafted by volunteers. These tools reflect environmental sustainability and creatively combine nursing with rehabilitation.
Long-term care activities, held twice a week, are open to dialysis patients and staff families. Through ongoing interaction and practice, many elderly participants have made notable progress—such as moving from cane use to walking independently. These improvements bring great satisfaction to both volunteers and staff.
By observing on-site, students saw how volunteer service directly enhances the quality of life for the elderly, embodying the “people-centered” spirit of care.
