On 18–19 October 2025, Tzu Chi International Medical Association (TIMA) volunteers carried out a medical outreach at Kampung Tasek, Pengkalan Hulu, a Thai-majority farming village of about 2,000 residents. After several coordination meetings, site visits, and planning with the village heads and local councillor, the outreach was successfully held at Wat Phikunbunyaran. A total of 42 TIMA members joined from Penang, Perlis, Kuala Lumpur, Melaka, and Kelantan, traveling to serve with compassion.
The outreach covered 96 health screenings, 32 home visits, and 32 children’s health screenings. Doctors and volunteers patiently explained test results, promoted kidney and chronic disease care, and offered free medical consultations.
On the second day, four teams visited bedridden or mobility-impaired patients at home, combining traditional and western medicine approaches. The children’s team, led by paediatricians and medical students, carried out developmental assessments and fun learning activities.
Behind the scenes, volunteers handled logistics, meals, and documentation with great care. Every smile reflected the essence of TIMA Malaysia.
