From the classroom to the pulse of reality, students from Tzu Chi University stepped into the Penang Tzu Chi Dialysis Center to discover that while medicine treats illness, only presence heals the soul. Moving beyond textbooks, learning became tangible through the hope of patients, the warmth of family volunteers, and the scent of fresh bread—each a gentle safety net for life. By embracing the philosophy of “Dialysis for the Soul,” students witnessed the ultimate transformation of patients becoming volunteers, proving that professional skill saves lives, but sincerity restores them. This journey provided more than medical knowledge; it offered a “holistic perspective” on life, reminding everyone that in the world of healing, the heart must always lead the way.
