Buddhist Tzu-Chi Dialysis Centre (Penang)
Sometimes, it doesn’t take much time to make a meaningful difference.
Students from MCKL College returned once again, spending 20 hours at the dialysis centre—but in that time, they created moments of genuine connection.
They invited patients to choose their favorite songs, then sang for them. Familiar melodies filled the space, bringing smiles and lightness into what would otherwise be long, quiet sessions.
For patients, it was more than passing time—it was the feeling of being seen and cared for. When a song is sung just for you, the journey feels a little lighter. Through these moments, students also discovered stories of resilience and strength.
You don’t need special skills or a lot of time. Just showing up is enough to begin.
