On the ninth day of the Lunar New Year in the Year of the Dragon (January 30, 2023), the Tzu Chi Kindergarten in Johor Bahru held its much-anticipated Lunar New Year celebration, filling the campus and surrounding community with joy and warmth.
On stage, the children were the shining stars, confidently showcasing their growth and talents through performances full of innocence and charm. Beyond the campus, a special “Blessings Delivery Team” made up of older kindergarteners visited nearby neighborhoods, personally delivering blessing cards and mandarin oranges to spread gratitude and care.
At the Jing Si Hall, the younger children experienced the solemnity of traditional prayer rituals, lighting one heart lamp after another to brighten their New Year wishes. The highlight of the day was the dragon dance performance — as the golden dragon leapt and twirled amid thunderous applause, all the teachers and students eventually passed through the dragon’s body, symbolizing the acceptance of blessings, peace, and good fortune.
On this day, the children not only experienced the beauty of traditional culture but also learned gratitude and the joy of sharing through hands-on participation.
