On 18 February 2025, a community volunteer reported to Tzu Chi Community Medical Care nurse about an elderly lady living alone and struggling with severe back pain.
The nurse found she had a spinal fracture, making daily tasks like using the bathroom or dining extremely painful. Our team quickly stepped in—providing physiotherapy, pain relief, and support tools to ease her discomfort.
Volunteers installed handrails at key areas in her home, helping her move safely and confidently. With this support, this lady regained some comfort and independence.
The team’s thoughtful and caring efforts made a big difference—turning pain into hope.
