Thanks to a kind referral during the October 13 Bamboo Bank campaign, we learned about a young woman in need of help. She lost her leg to diabetes and is unable to move around, spending most of her time in bed. She relies on adult diapers and needs assistance with daily living.
On October 24, Tzu Chi nurses and volunteers visited her in Kampung Melayu. With help from her neighbor, we checked her health, brought daily necessities, and shared our care. We noticed her blood sugar was high and that she still enjoyed sweet foods, which worried us at first. But we reminded each other to stay patient and kind, encouraging her to care for herself. Those in hardship cannot always walk out on their own—so those who are able must walk in to help. We hope our care brings her comfort, hope, and strength. 💙
