The first visit of 2026 was more than a visit; it was a quiet passing of courage. Accompanied by volunteers and the Head Nurse, dialysis patient Lau Kar Kie visited Mrs Eng, who is struggling with the impact of cataracts. Having once faced total blindness himself, Kar Kie shared not as an observer, but as someone who had walked through adversity, offering encouragement shaped by experience.
To support her emotional well-being, volunteers invited Mrs Eng to join the dialysis centre’s bakery activities, creating space to ease her mind. This encounter healed two hearts—Mrs Eng found comfort, while Kar Kie realised that the cracks in his journey could become light for others.
