The “Bamboo Bank” spirit—that even small coins save lives—profoundly moved visitors from China. Beyond stories, they joined patients to craft bamboo banks, turning simple companionship into a shared language.
The experience deepened through the resilience of Lau Kar Kie, a visually impaired dialysis patient and master weaver. By donning blindfolds to weave and walk in darkness, visitors moved beyond sympathy. In that void, every hesitant step fostered true empathy, leaving them inspired by the courage of a life lived with embodied compassion.
