At the Penang Tzu Chi Dialysis Center, the long-term support and care have been deeply moving. Two years ago, dialysis patient Mr Ooi had to amputate his right leg due to a bacterial infection, which led to a period of despair. Fortunately, a single encouraging word from a nurse helped him regain his motivation.

Mr Ooi dedicated himself to rigorous exercise training, hoping to stand up again after getting a prosthetic limb in the future. After months of hard work, he can now walk on his own, regaining his confidence and strength.

Mr Ooi shared, “Before, when I didn’t exercise, I couldn’t walk at all. Now, after exercising, my body feels stronger, and I have more energy. I’m very grateful to everyone who has helped me.”

Nurse Pei Hoay remarked, “He never gave up on himself. Every time he came for dialysis, he would come to the long-term care center to exercise. His dedication and persistence have earned our admiration.”

After the doctor confirmed his health and muscle strength, he finally received his prosthetic limb and has gradually achieved his goals. Despite the ongoing challenges, Mr Ooi’s perseverance and effort have shown that relentless dedication will yield results.

Thank you to everyone who has supported and helped him. Mr Ooi can now take steps with his own legs once again and embrace a bright new chapter in his life!
